Grass Seed
Not only is it time for you to get those plant and flower beds going with cedar mulch, but it's about time you get to work on planting that grass seed. Those bald spots in the lawn don't look so great after a long winter and you want to make sure to plant that grass seed now before it gets to deep into the summer and it's too hot to plant that grass seed. There are plenty of great grass seed products out there but you want to make sure you know a few things before you start buying up any old bad. See www.loveyourland.com/grassseed for tips on what to buy and how to prep your lawn to plant the grass seed. It also has great tips on how to do the actual planting. It's imperative that you fill those bald spots with grass so that when you have those summer picnics in the backyard, all the kids running around aren't kicking up dirt. If you don't plant that grass seed soon, you'll have to wait until the fall and then what's the use. Once the snow comes you won't even get to see it. Bottom line is, if you want that lush, beautiful, green lawn that impresses all your guests and neighbors, get to work now on planting that grass seed.
Cedar Mulch
It's that time of year for cedar mulch! The winter has just ended and you're looking for a way to rejuvenate that struggling plant and flower bed that will keep it looking healthy and beautiful throughout the summer. The best way to do that is by using cedar mulch. The many advantages of cedar mulch are clear (see www.loveyourland.com/cedarmulch). Not only will cedar mulch help to ward of insects and help protect your plant and flower beds from weathering, it will help replenish the soil with vital nutrients that your plants and flowers need to grow healthy and flourish through the hot summer months. Not only does cedar mulch do a great job of assisting your plants and flowers in growing and staying strong, but it adds some aesthetic value as well. So order that cedar mulch soon so that you can get to work on those plants and flowers that have been pleading for your help all winter long.

pressure treated lumber and decks
Now is that time of year when you want to be outside sitting on your deck, drinking a couple of cold ones and grilling up some burgers while taking in some rays and a nice breeze. Bottom line is, if you don't have a deck, get one. Everybody loves a deck. Almost anybody with some knowledge of design and construction and a determination to have the biggest baddest deck on the block can do it. With the help of some family members I just built my own using all pressure treated lumber, even for the decking itself. I decided against the composite decking because its ridiculously expensive and I've heard some negative things about it like it fades, it grows mold, it's hard to clean etc. If you maintain pressure treated wood properly (my suggestion is washing and re-staining every spring), pressure treated will look great for years. Also, you can build a nice size deck for a relatively low cost if you do it yourself. Throw a case of beer towards your friends and family and most of them would be more than happy to help. I've been designing decks for years and I finally got to build my own. It was fun and rewarding, not to mention it's the biggest and baddest on the block. If your building a deck or thinking about feel free to ask questions. Don't forget to check out www.loveyourland.com for tips and advantages of pressure treated lumber.
